My GATE score is 490 in life sciences and i have an all india rank of 253. Please guide on which institutes I could apply in for PhD Huh

Your All India ranking is impressive but you have to choose an instituion according to your Geographical preferences and relocation factors. I do not know  where you are to answer that question. If geography is no limitation then you can think of applying  for the best.

Thanks for the reply. I am currently working in Bangalore but am originally from Kolkata. Either of these two places would be fine for me. But a good institution anywhere in India is ok. Do you feel I stand a chance in IITs?
